What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a treatment done in a pressurized chamber where the air pressure is raised to 4.2psi or1.3 ATA higher than normal air pressure and an oxygen mask flowing 95% oxygen.     Oxidative stress reflects an imbalance between the systemic manifestation of reactive oxygen species and a biological system's ability to readily detoxify the reactive intermediates or to repair the resulting damage.
